Standout Real Estate Holiday Posts for Agents
Nov 03, 2026
Every December, agent feeds fill up with the same thing: a festive graphic, a "Happy Holidays" caption, and a logo in the corner. If you want your real estate holiday posts to be remembered, they need to be a little more human than that. Here's why most holiday posts blend in, what makes one stand out, and a handful of ideas you can use this season.
Why Most Real Estate Holiday Posts Blend In
Most agents post a canned graphic. It comes from the brokerage, or it's something they found online. This year, I expect to see even more graphics generated by AI. Some of them are cute. But when everyone is posting something similar, none of them stand out.
There are two bigger problems:
- They don't evoke an emotion. A stock graphic doesn't make anyone feel anything, so there's no reason to stop scrolling.
- They don't show who you are. A canned graphic doesn't explain what you do, who you help, or why someone would pick you. It doesn't use your brand at all.
Your brand isn't a logo or a color. It's who you are, who you work with, and how you show up. A post that could belong to any agent isn't using any of that.
What Makes a Real Estate Holiday Post Stand Out
The posts and reels that work best tell a story about the holidays. They show the people behind the transaction, the buyers and sellers, and the agent behind it too. They show action and the human side. They can be heartwarming, and they're a real chance to show yourself.
Nobody else can copy who you are as a person. That's what makes a holiday post stand out, and it's a better use of the season than another graphic.
Real Estate Holiday Post Ideas
Show How You Give Back
Document how you're helping families in need this season. That might be volunteering at a food bank or donating toys to a toy drive. Share it only if it's real. A short video or a few photos in your Stories is enough.
Share the Wins of Buyers and Sellers
Fewer people buy and sell during the holidays, so the ones who do have a story worth telling. Share their wins, such as a family getting keys before the holidays or a seller who closed in time. Leave out names, addresses and personal details, ask first if a client is in the shot, and check your brokerage's policies and your state's rules.
Show the Agent Behind the Transaction
Let people see your day. Show how you're supporting your community, contributing to the local economy and helping others. Show the fun side too, like getting your neighborhood and clients together for something festive. Share your family traditions and the real moments that make the holidays for you. The holidays can get stressful, and they aren't only about gifts. Showing that is a good way to connect with the people watching.
Point to Local Events
Local events and happenings give you something to write about that isn't a graphic. A post about a tree lighting, a market, or a neighborhood lights display shows people what it's like to live where you work.
Here are a few example hooks you can adapt:
- "The part of the holidays nobody posts about: [your real moment]."
- "I helped [type of buyer or seller] get keys before the holidays. Here's what that day looked like."
- "My favorite holiday tradition in [your town], and why I tell every client about it."
How to Keep It Real and Not Forced
Don't make anything up. If you make things up, it sounds forced, and it is.
Instead, document what's already happening and add it to your Stories. Test what works there, and if a story gets a good response, turn it into a reel. That way you're not guessing about what people want to see. For more on that, see my posts on Stories and Reels and what to post on Instagram.
If you're short on time, the idea from my post on catching your content, not creating it works especially well in December. Take a quick voice memo after a moment worth sharing, and use it later.

The Bottom Line
What makes a holiday post stand out is you and what you're doing. Nobody can copy who you are as a person. When you document your holidays, your community and your clients' wins, you show people who you are, and people buy from people.
